Man, often it's like, you get to love a band when you're quite young, and when you hear that band later on, you get all nostalgic and melancholic (wrongly spelled, I fear). I have this sort of relationship to Dire Straits, among others. And although you get to like, and even love, other bands as the years go by, they're not able to trigger that emotional outlet. Well, guess what. I only discovered Steely Dan a couple of years ago, but they hit me right in the gut. Now i have all your SD albums, (except for that soundtrack with FM on, which I haven't been able to find here in desolate Norway), and I'm in the process of gathering your solo work as well. So, to sum it up, you're the greatest band in the world. And every time I listen to one of your albums, there's a new little treat I haven't noticed before. It's like a bottomless well of musical joy and inspiration. Thank you. Sincerely yours, Johannes Refsdal

Hi, I have bought several of those "Becker and Fagan Early Years" CD's. I like them, but I always wonder if you're getting any money for them. Or is this a typical record-company ripoff?

Congratulations on the grammy for Two Against Nature. I bought it as soon as it hit the stores, as I have done with all of your albums since the very first.

Also enjoy your solo stuff quite a bit. Since I work in a high school, I have introduced your work to a whole new generation. When you won the grammy, students were flooding my office to hear the CD because they knew I'd have it. A big fan, Wayde

Hi Walter, Hi Donald

Is there a CD collection of all Steely Dan releases (are all Steely Dan-LPs available on CD ?).

Would be interested to order all on CD, because some I still have on LP, some on CD.

When does your next LIVE CD come out ? The LIVE OVER AMERICA CD is by far the best Steely Dan release. Congratulations for the Grammy regarding"Two against Nature", by the way.

Take care. Regards from sunny Switzerland.

Wow, I did'nt realize you guys had only written 5 songs. Incidentally, my favourite S.D. song is Babylon Sister. This is, without a doubt, the most sperm-curdling horn arrangement I have ever heard in my life (matched only by Gil Evans). Thanks very much for giving my life at least one worthwhile moment.

Hey Boys, why the subdued response at the grammys??This was a great avenue to reintroduce your music a la Carlos Santana(of last year)You have earned your dues as musicians, cash in your chips while you have them, it was as if Two against Nature was not warranted the spotlight, maybe this is good inspiration for the next album. best of luck, i will always have the confort of your music. al

Being a big fan of your music since 1975 it's a great kick to finally see you play life! The sound of the Clair Brothers PA-system at the last concert was absolutely fantastic. I really hope to see you again some time.

I've never been in a concert in Germany, and it was "the experience" indeed. I was so delighted that you played many of my favorite songs, especially the ones from AJA. You were all so great!

I am a Steely Dan fan all the way back to "You got to Walk it like you Talk it."

The latest album 2 against nature is in the tradition and brings out the great crossover between jazz, R&B and pop the group is known for.

Good luck on another gold or platinum.

Hey you guys, I think your music kicks. Im 15 years old and an avid listener of punk rock. My dad was kickin it to you guys in his car the other day and I liked what I heard. Then my brother got him the Two Against Nature DVD and I really liked it even more. So I asked my dad about it, and he gave me the Aja CD and it blew my mind. I think you guys rock and should keep rockin. Wes Corpus Christi, TX

Donald, I was interested in the interview you guys had for PBS where there was talk of band dissent, changing players, evolving sounds and generally very human-like egotistical challenges. How distracting is all that to you as opposed to being the "artiste", who creates his craft in a vacum, caring little for critical success as long as fun is had and beauty is created.
